Eine Frau ein Stil

Interview mit Bloggerin Sofia Dreikorn

# 01/13

The interior of your flat looks very special and wisely chosen. Please tell us about your apartment and interior styling.

Our flat is divided into two floors and is on the top floor of the building which is in Charlottenburg and spread over 120 square meters. We love it for the light and the space but the bathroom really sold us. It’s an enormous pink marble bathroom with a Jacuzzi which is my sanctuary after a long day. Other features: the walk in closet, upstairs wintergarten and fitted yellow kitchen on the upstairs floor is great for entertaining our friends. Our décor is very mixed since we combined pieces from all over the world and from different eras but somehow it works. From 60’s furniture we inherited to more modern pieces it can definitely be said that it’s quite eclectic and has a lot of character. Having things from everywhere we’ve lived really makes it feel like home wherever we are. My favorite piece is the giant black mirror we got in London and the two lamps we picked up in Mauerpark fleamarket at bargain prices. And of course my Perspex desk from Japan.

Where do you shop interior?

I love What About Interior for its original mix of designers from all over Europe. It’s owned by two very close friends, Janek Andre and Maria Baños, who have great taste. In Hamburg there's Flamant and from Spain I love Beccara and buying Spanish AD. In Berlin I often stop by Lilo (Love Is Like Oxygen) but for truly original pieces I like flea markets, Mauerpark and the antique stores around my area. Sometimes I pop by Villa Harteneckin Grünewald for inspiration.

You still got items on your shopping agenda for home interior?

I have my eye on a few décor pieces from Luxodo like the Diptique candles and the wool throw blankets from Missoni Home. And this cool feather lamp from WAI.

If you imagine your dreamhouse, what would it look like and where would it be?

Anywhere near the ocean really. Maybe a whitewashed cabin in the Hamptons with a big veranda overlooking the sea and very simple cosy interior.

We choose you as the so called fashion role model of our current issue for »So Simple So Chic«. What does your wardrobe consist of and what are your all-time respectively current faves?

I have lots of high-street brands and combine them with more expensive accessories. My favourite dress is the 3.1 Phillip Lim I wore as my »second party dress« for my wedding. The main dress was a family heirloom made of ivory lace and very »me« so I hardly had to alter it.

This party season I’ll be wearing my Bottega Veneta PVC heels, my »Valorie« glitter clutch from Anya Hindmarch and my trusty »Nightingale« bag from Givenchy. The rest is a mix of no-brands and loads of Zara and vintage items.

Do you have any style icons?

My style inspiration respectively icon is my mom. Apart from having great taste she really keeps up with trends and really instilled my love of fashion and shopping. I can’t count how many shopping adventures we’ve been on together. Famous icons change like trends: Right now I really love Bianca Brandolini, Olivia Palermo, Alexa Chung, Diane Kruger, because I absolutely can relate to their styles.

… some things on your wishlist for christmas?

On my x-mas wishlist is this bracelet from Ina Beissner. Really anything from her collection! She’s opening a pop up store from 11th till 16th december in Brunnenstrasse 22 in Berlin and I’ll definitely be stopping by and possibly maxing out my credit card …

Any favourite fashion shops?

I just came back from Paris and I fell in love with the Kabuki store and Le 66 on Champs Elysees. I also love Jazmin Chebar in Buenos Aires and I always stop by Reiss and Topshop in London. In Bangkok Chatuchak weekend market is a place to spend the day shopping - but wear next to no clothes as it can get extremely hot!

You're originally from Argentina and have lived many places abroad. Where did you like it most and why?

Bangkok, Thailand. It’s exotic, chaotic and luxurious all at once! I love the Thai people and I’m a firm believer that the people make the place. The beaches there are the most beautiful I’ve ever seen by far. I did my high school years there so you can imagine many crazy memories were made there and every time I return it feels like home to me.

Any travel recommendations for our readers?

In Bangkok I like to stay at the Nylert Park but I’m dying to try the new W hotel. Beach-wise the Rayavadee is unparalleled for style, comfort and its idyllic location. For food I recommend Sirocco restaurant in Bangkok on 63rd floor, which has an amazing view of the city but I also love The Face. There’s plenty of clubs and bars out there but the cool kids all go to Bed Supper Club, which looks like a spaceship that landed in the middle of the city and inside has comfy white beds instead of tables. In Argentina I love to spend some time in the area of Palermo Soho and shop local fashion labels. San Telmo has an amazing antiques market where you can lose yourself walking around for hours and spot locals dancing tango in the plaza center. For drinks I like Million Bar and for a night of culture the Teatro Colon is un-missable and so is the Malba museum. Stay at the Faena which is designed by Phillip Stark.

What do you like about your current hometown Berlin and which locations do you attend often?

I love that it has become truly international and the city is always alive with cultural events, fashion parties and nightlife but at the same time it’s the epitome of laid-back cool. Me and my husband moved here from London when we wanted a change of pace and we really found this perfect in between here. It’s a Cosmopolitan city with a chilled vibe to it. My Top Spots in Berline are Soho House, which is absolutely stunning for décor, the service, the rooftop pool and the Cowshed Spa, Odessa Bar for its Moscow Mules and Haus am See for a Berlin kind of night. Considering fashion shopping in Berlin I love Amorph at Savigny Platz and Wald at Hackerschermarkt.
